Service to the Community

In 中学, 学生 will spend a day in the spring helping local organizations. Above, 学生 shovel mulch for the Rescue 任务's landscaping.

Service takes many shapes at North Cross. 在任何一天, you may find 学生 in the 较低的学校 writing Thanksgiving messages to Veterans at the VA Hospital; 中学ers collecting canned food to donate to a local shelter; or the whole school participating in a meal-packing event for families in need across the globe. 除此之外, 学生 will take service trips to places like Costa Rica, where they not only get to experience zip lining through the rainforest, 同时也帮助清理海滩上的垃圾，这样筑巢的海龟就可以安全地穿越沙滩. 高中tudents are required to perform at least 12.5 hours of community service per year, but many of them exceed that requirement. 在春天, 在社区服务日，学生们被分成不同的组织，伸出援助之手. 上学校ers have the opportunity to participate in summer internships, available at a variety of local businesses and organizations.

Beyond the mentorship provided by their peers and teachers, North Cross builds into its 较低的学校 curriculum a time for guidance.
